Well, lately it has been taking me a long time to make another set of playlist for this site. The internet seem to keep distracting me to do so.  It's like they are doing it for me.  The apps from the android does also seem to keep me from doing so.  And there are too many of them to get excited about. One can't or almost can't even be sure anymore which ones do really work or even is reliable to say the least. Some of which are really absurd.  Hahaha the boredom busters .. and I do feel that I don't need to do so anymore.  For  I am at the helm of trying to keep abreast of the latest find as I am also trying to look for the best vintage find. But who knows?  We'll never know. Because of that thing that keeps trying to tell me to keep doing so when you do not feel compelled to do so anymore.

I know it's kinda like listening to some kind of a tattered piece of clothing or however you may want to call it. It may just be a piece of pattern one needs to stitch complete.  A set of ingredients to cook and serve.  Or just  something to listen to while doing something else. And the mood may just vary according to taste.  But you'll need to snap out off of it if it gets too overwhelming, puzzling or loud.  Keep abreast of how one still needs to take care of something else other than the thing you are preoccupied with, or engrossed compulsively with.  To unwind and chill out. 

The struggles one may have been at the current time and place, and the need to break out. To keep the balance right and just to appreciate the world as it is.  How it has made one strong with constant longing and searching for answers, answers, answers.  The quests and the sorrow, the guilt and the pain.  The mourning, and over-reactions, lies , hatred and betrayal.

Well, the approach of some artists to embody the kind of music they want to render might put you astray.  Because they do vary because they only relied upon their present wit and their form of expressions and quality of context may very well of course be misunderstood.  For some or a whole lot of them do suffer from delusions of god complex or the paranoia of constant prying past demons.  Music has that awesome power and magic to express all kinds of emotions.  Feelings that can't be expressed only by words and conversations, even with straightforward confrontations.  And thus, here is a little piece of magic you may or may not want to receive. Musical theory and beyond.

One can never keep up. Not Just Robert Pollard or Tobin Sprout, this band is phenomenal. They seem not to run out of songs and releases. As of this writing the classic lineup released eight singles before the middle of the year 2013. Two singles for 2011 and four for 2012. And now it's 2k15...what the heck!

They are on their nth album release not mentioning a number of Pollard and Sprout side projects. I hear that they're still making new songs.  Every release for me is like attending a class with Bob the Professor. And the only thing left to say or ask is "Will GBV be singing in another language soon enough perhaps?"..., just saying.

It is the same song and the same artist, or is it? Something's definitely and distinctly different about these.  Must be, but it's played by the same artists more or less,  just might as well be the same song, the same version but it just isn't.  They're twisted, warped or something other than other one. These are remakes, live, sessions, acoustic or may just be the early versions.  You might just like it this way. Here you'll be looking or listening to them in a different way. A few are so close with their studio versions and some I'd say are plainly unusual.

01. Get A Room - Psychedelic Furs
This is an adorable acoustic version of "Get A Room" originally found on the album "The World Outside".

02. A Small Mercy - Fra Lippo Lippi
The second track on the album :Small Mercies", "A Small Mercy," is the early birth of one of Fra Lippo Lippi's future hits, "Everytime I See You."

03. Brighter - The Railway Children
The rare acoustic version of "Brighter" found on their acoustic release "Gentle Sound".

04. Hole In The Holy - Echo and the Bunnymen
A remake of my favorite "Over You".

05. Crowning Glory - The Wild Swans
A remake of the ever enchanting "The Whirlpool Heart".

06. Temptation - New Order
The 7" Version of early New Order, post Joy Division's "Temptation".

07. Think For A Minute - The Housemartins
More upbeat version of Housemartins' lovely "Think For A Minute'.

08. Another Girl, Another Planet - The Only Ones
Very close, this is from The Only Ones' John Peel Sessions.

Doug Gillard's "I Am A Tree", produced by Gem pre-Guided By Voices stint.

The early version of The Cars' hit "Let's Go".

Doolittle's "Monkey Gone To Heaven", remixed version.

The version that's cut from The Smiths' John Peel Sessions.

THE SOUNDTRIPPER - 2013'S TOP 100 BEST FIND

I meant to post this before reaching 2014, but was obviously  preoccupied with something else. And to compile a hundred beautiful tracks really was not an easy task.  But it's only the 5th day of the New Year anyway.  Not that anyone's gonna care, I don't even know how or why I am in a way motivated into doing this. Just the same, and considering that The Soundtripper is thriving on to reach its third year this year, perhaps it still is a necessary chore to do so.

So here are 100 tracks I kept and cherished the whole year of 2013.  Some tracks were haplessly crammed in just to reach the total number of a hundred, but was careful enough to keep the list in its best shape as possible.  If you'd try to categorize them, or wonder how I came up with such list, you'd notice with careful, persistent probe that this was divided into ten genres and mixed into the blender.  Or like preparing ten ingredients and pouring them all into the boiling pot.  Just let it steam for hours to cook.  And if you don't have anything better to do, just play on.  You might just love it.

THIS IS NEW ALTERNATIVE - ( THE SOUNDTRIPPER II - VOLUME ONE )

This here is new alternative.   You can call them what you want.  Call it Grunge, Indie Rock, or Modern Rock but it's easier to call it Alternative.  Remember when you get confused what to call the genre?,  It's better to call it the alternative meaning it's the other thing you want to call it.

These songs are fresh, which means they were released not long ago.  The best I could come up  without revisiting the other old alternative songs.  And they pretty much convey the same mood. Some bands were here for a long time now, but a number of them are really quite new.

Who misses Grunge? I mean the Grunge Crunch era that we knew. The kind of music that will make you say "Yeah, it is grungy!" Like chewing a ball of hard and crunchy "chicharron" inside your mouth or your head being sawn off, a jawbreaker. Hot, hard and crisp. But you don't need your flannels just yet, just play on and strip this sound. This volume and for this month of February, let's visit back the angst-driven, root Seattle rock scene of the 80s, 90s and beyond. This is Grunge and their counterparts. I made it a point not to feature two tracks of the same band. These here is a colloidal mixture of the best of Grunge rock on my standpoint. So grab on to your seats or get loose and into the groove with this collection of doinks. Make sure you put your ears closer to the speakers and play it louder than usual. Take the Grunge Plunge everybody.

Before the month of January ends and for the first post of 2013, I have decided to feature a compilation  once every month. And since I still have not featured any record for 2013, I compiled more songs or tracks for this volume.Volume XXII features a mixture of different but connected genres.  Some old and some new.  Some popular and some unheard of or underrated.  You decide which ones suit your taste.  Some you may find inappropriately included, does not belong or out of place or context.  But nevertheless, you'd see and discover how different music catches and reflect our every mood. Play on and you'll find out anyway that it's mostly indie rock, pop or alternative.  Picked the best tracks in no particular concept or age in mind. Just the thought that all of these tracks might slip away from my playlist someday.  So before that happens, I am leaving it here somehow before it disappears into oblivion.  And by the way, because I am getting fewer audience here, I am not naming the tracks here hoping that you'd try and identify them yourself or dare to ask The Soundtripper.
