Orange and Lemons was a Filipino pop rock band formed in 1999. The band name "Oranges and Lemons" was initially recommended by a former member of the group. Apparently the band was not aware at that time that the name was actually derived from a British nursery rhyme and a title of an album by the British band "XTC". So they changed it to "Orange and Lemons".
This was way before the band was known for the their most commercialized and controversial song 'Pinoy Ako', theme song of 'Pinoy Big Brother', flaunted by listeners, fans and fellow musicians to be a Rip Off The Care's Chandeliers. Besides that, this album clearly shows off pure New Wave Revival, Orange and Lemons filled on empty spaces on the Pinoy Modern Rock scene. ONL unbelievably sounds like The Smiths, the Housemartins and The Wild Swans arguably.
