I've just listened to the samples and actually they're not that bad, it's nice to hear some different takes on the classics rather than slavishly copying them (as at least one other Pixies tribute album mostly does, with mostly inferior results). There's no substitute for the originals obviously but these tracks serve to complement them well - mellow, musical and highly listenable. -jer
